Never Share Your Login Or Password
Don't share your username and password - we can't refund your losses in this case!
We are noticing a significant number of requests coming in from our users, asking us to refund items, tokens or gold that they have lost because they have given away their username and password to other people. These other people have then accessed their account and made transfers to their own accounts.
Is this Hacking?
Some people believe this is being "hacked" but it isn't. Hacking an account is getting in when you haven't been given the username or password.
Any time you share your details with anyone you lower the security/integrity of your account. This is true regardless of your relationship with the person you are sharing with, for example your family, partner, flatmates etc...
You should treat your SmallWorlds account as if it were a Bank Account. If you give away access to your accounts, the Bank will not cover any losses.
What We Can Do
- We follow up on abuse reports of people accessing accounts and transferring items against the wishes of the person who gave them their details - in most cases, a ban is issued.
- We remind victims NEVER to give away their username and password, and if they do, IMMEDIATELY change their password!
What We Can't Do
- We can't refund items, Tokens, or Gold, or compensate for losses in any way. Your losses were a result of your choice to share your details. There is no way for you (or us) to prove that it was not you who made the transfers or prove that you did not authorise them.
