In these recessionary times have you ever considered a fairly serious change in your career path? You have? Then The Undead Academy is for you! Their Diploma course in Vampire Slaying for Beginners will teach you everything you need to know on the subject.

A concentrated and well organized campaign by the media has tricked the public into believing that vampires can be good and sexy, resulting in a severe shortage of skilled slayers. The Situations Vacant column of the Daily Stake, the industry newspaper, is packed full of well paid jobs for qualified vampire slayers.

After you arrive at the Academy you will be given a brief introduction to the course, which is divided into three sections:

• Know your enemy
• Know your enemy's enemy
• Lure your enemy

You are advised that the Academy operates a policy of zero tolerance towards foolish mistakes.

You could end up in the naughty corner...

or worse!

Then there are a few well chosen words from the director

and it's time to get started.

In your first mission you will learn how to prepare bottles of warmed blood spiked with a few drops of holy water

and then it's off to the graveyard to catch and kill a baby vampire (don't be fooled, they're not as sweet and cuddly as they look, and can give a nasty bite).

An important section of the course is devoted to creating and controlling your own Zombie (be very careful not to splash yourself with drops from the acid bath, rubber gloves are provided).

The final section is divided into two parts, the first of which is potentially quite dangerous, but the Academy staff will be close by at all times. A date with a vampire!!! You can pick whether you want to date a male

The final simulation will test your reflexes and newly honed awareness of the undead.

Congratulations! Now that you have your diploma the (undead) world is your oyster, and you will never have to join the dole queues again!!

Vampire Slaying for Beginners - funny, intriguing, beautifully written and with some very clever interactions. I defy anyone not to enjoy themselves doing this mission - I loved it!
