Matsi Branco Liked Us on Facebook and Won 10,000 Gold!

August 17, 2010 11:03 AM

I spent all Sunday feeling a growing sense of excitement as Monday morning drew closer. My very first task for each Monday in August is to generate the two randomly-chosen names from all the citizens who have Liked the SmallWorlds Fan Page on Facebook - and award those two lucky people 10,000 Gold.

If you haven't done so already, make sure you Like the SmallWorlds Fan Page on Facebook. As I explained in the story we ran two weeks ago, it's without doubt the very easiest way to win such a generous amount of Gold!

Every week in August we're randomly selecting two winners from all those who have Liked us on Facebook. Last week, it was the turn of Nicolette Page and Cody Boy the 7th. Let's meet this week's lucky winners - although as you'll see below, one of our winners still remains a mystery!

Matsi Branco Wins 10,000 Gold!

Matsi was the first to contact me and I was delighted to meet him in-world and congratulate him in person.  Matsi is from Portugal and has been playing SmallWorlds for around 12 months. I asked him about his first reaction to winning 10'000 Gold.

"Well Kent, firstly when I saw a mail from you i was like: "aww a mail from Kent, great, let me see what it say!!"... but when I opened it I was like: "ohh ... wow ... great, I really won the prize, ahah!" I must confess I am very happy and thrilled, mostly because its not everyday that luck knocks on the door like this...;)"

While we were chatting, I also asked Matsi about his favorite things to do on SmallWorlds. He told me that he had many but that his favorites were Missions and the Art community.

"Usually I spend most my time playing missions or chatting with friends, ... and also at my gallery, searching around the forums for other galleries, for art and/or new artists that may be interesting to promote and/or possibly add to my personal collection of SmallWorlds art... Its amazing what some players can do with a canvas, truly stunning art!"

Of course the question I most wanted to ask Matsi was what he was planning to do with his winnings! "Ahah ... my wish list still on hold! I'm waiting for the new wears and/or the musical instruments release hehehe!) I guess this is my wish list for now!! Yeah, I'll be saving this 10k maybe for a possible new coming addition to the game ;)!".

Winner 2: Asks for her prize to be given to someone else!

Just this morning I had a Facebook message reply from our second lucky winner who expressed to me that as she already had plenty of Gold in her account, it would make her feel so happy to know that her 10,000 Gold prize could go to someone else who would really appreciate it.  Very heartwarming indeed!

I've pictured her at left, but at her request, will not actually reveal her name. We have randomly generated another name, and I have contacted this person via Facebook just a few hours ago. As at time of publishing, I still had not had their reply confirming for me their SmallWorlds avatar name, so cannot release these details as yet ... who knows, perhaps it's you!

Again, I'd like to thank our anonymous benefactor for her touching generosity.

4 prizes of 10,000 Gold left: Like the SmallWorlds Fan Page on Facebook today and you could win!

I'd like to offer my congratulations once again to both our mystery winner and to Matsi - our latest two winners in our August Facebook promotion. There are still two weeks to go, which means there's four more prizes of 10,000 Gold left to win! Like us on Facebook and one might well be yours! It's really easy to enter:

You'll see the Like us on Facebook advertisement in the Chronicle up in the top right hand side.  If you haven't done so already, just click Like and you'll be in the draw!  You'll know when you've Liked us because the icon will change to a Thumbs Up.  Remember, you only need to click it once and you'll stay in the draw for all of August.

I'm already excited about next Monday morning when I get to contact the next two lucky winners ... perhaps one of them might be you!
