Monthly Art Challenge: Gratitude

January 5, 2012 3:30 PM

Congratulations to the winners of the Gratitude art challenge. Their paintings will shortly be added into the Monthly Art Challenge Gallery. The winners receive 5000 Gold, and the runners up get 3000 Gold.

Please accept my sincere apologies for the late announcement of the winners of this contest - we had a few delays and crossed wires due to the holiday season.  I'm also sorry to say that I can't announce another contest yet.  We're very busy here at SWHQ, so I'm going to take a break from the contest for a month or two to help out with other things.  But I look forward to seeing your paintings when I get back!

"Gratitude" Theme - The Winners

Best Painting: Give Us This Day by Cinderella Frost

I felt this painting really embodied the idea of giving thanks, and had a very pleasing composition. A wonderful painting, Cinderella!

Best Painting Runner up: Thank you Lord for lighting my path by Red Berg / Doj Abe

This piece has a real feeling of thankfulness and serenity. It is beautifully painted and has a warmth and depth I just love.

Most Creative Winner: Giving Thanks for the World by Amea Hottstuff

Amea says her painting is about a grateful child loving life everyday, and that certainly shines through. It's a beautiful painting, Amea with lots of heart.

Most Creative Runner Up: True Friends by Jojo Anna

I loved what Jojo said about her painting, and I thought her sentiment really shone through the work. She said: One of the things I'm most grateful for this Thanksgiving are true friends. They are not easy to come by. But, every once in a while you will come across a rare gem of a friend - one that is always there when you need him/her, on good days and bad.

Thanks again to all who entered.
