Citizens, I am very excited about today's release. I am a devoted fan of the motor scooter and the Zoom Bella Scooter is a beautiful motor scooter indeed!

There is nothing better than feeling the wind in your hair as you travel along, and this scooter is fast enough to get your heart racing! With a speed-boost of +50, the Zoom Bella Scooter will get you where you're going in no time at all. Although with such a stylish mode of transport, I find myself enjoying the journey so much I never want to stop.

Citizens, on a personal note, I would urge you to please wear a helmet and sensible clothing when you ride your Zoom Bella Scooter. Your safety is my greatest concern! But once properly attired, I know you will enjoy riding this motor scooter immensely.

Venus Flytrap Swuffy

Swuffy Toys are a range of stuffed toy items that can be crafted on the Sewing Machine Widget from trading cards, stuffed bears and fabric. Put these things together and you get the cutest handheld collectibles that you can show off to your friends.

If you're already familiar with the craftable range of Swuffy stuffed toys, you'll know we have been taking a little break with them for a few weeks while we worked on other things in SmallWorlds. Now inspired by Battle Monkey's favorite Musical you can be a part of your own little shop of alien plant life with the Venus Flytrap Swuffy!

You will need the Venus Flytrap Card (x2) the Plain Teddy Bear and the Fine Fabric (x4). If you are crafting level 90 or above then grab the ingredients, open your sewing machine widget and go for it!  It may be a few weeks before the next new Swuffy is available for crafting.

Modern Living Modernized!

Today we open the second of five stores that are getting a major facelift and being attached to the Town Center. This new look spacious Modern Living showcases a number of the furniture options available to buy in SmallWorlds. The new layout is reminiscent of large furniture hyper stores like Ikea and the features the organizational style of a department store like Macy's or JC Penney. 

Modern Living is reopening with convenient access to and from the Town Center space and can still be found in the places panel as normal. The architects and designers have looked at the best of breed furniture stores and brought those same sensibilities to Modern Living.

The Town Center is a new public space that we opened a few months ago as a site under construction. It is a traditional Town Center area with plenty of room to move, socialize and enjoy that wonderful sense of community we all love in SmallWorlds.

The Town Center is both welcoming and functional.  It has open areas where you can mingle and meet new friends, or perhaps take a quiet stroll in the trees. It also provides easy access to five of SmallWorlds most popular stores:

• Modern Living
• SmallWear
• Alchemy Magic Shop (Formerly Mysterios)
• Garden Life (Formerly Fred's Garden Life)
• Emporium

Access Stores Directly From the Town Center

These stores are not all available to access from the Town Center immediately, but will be available progressively over the coming days.  This is because all of these stores are being revamped. Vincent and his team have been looking closely at the shopping experience and have made the spaces larger, more customer friendly and designed with you in mind.

Emporium opens today, the other four we'll release one-by-one in the coming days, so make sure you keep coming back often so you can see the changes for yourself!

We have also made a change to the way you enter these stores.  You can still get to them via the Places Panel, but when you are in the Town Center all you need to do is run your mouse over the doorway and you'll get an option to go into the store from a new pop up control. This additional method will make it very easy to visit stores from the Town Center.

May's Loyalty Challenge: The Cuckoo Clock

This lovely wall clock is a real classic.  I just love the way the cuckoo pops out and calls out the hour!  It's the perfect clock to complete the series with.

You'll get the Cuckoo Clock for free if you fill up the fourth of your Loyalty Challenge gems during May.

If you're new to the Loyalty Challenge, here's how it works. Just earn 6 Loyalty Points each day, for three days in a row to fill up one gem - that's your Weekly Challenge.

The Grandfather Clock

Once you've got all 3 loyalty rewards in the clock series - the Hourglass, the Sun Dial and the Cuckoo Clock, make sure they're all in your inventory, then head down to the Combobulator Laboratory.

You can check your progress using the Loyalty Challenge panel on your Console.

This panel shows you how many Loyalty Points you've earned for the current week, and which gem you're on. One progress marker fills up for each Loyalty Point you earn. When all six are full, the current day's challenge is complete and one third of the current gem will fill.

May's wonderful monthly collectibles, the Helmet of Atlantis and the Helmet of Acheron, can be worn by anyone. You need no XP to wear them.

You can own two of each kind of collectible, which means you can keep one for your collection and hold onto the other to sell at a later date. Our monthly collectibles often grow in value in the months after their release, so they can be a fantastic investment opportunity!

Using the Sculpture widget the citizens of SmallWorlds have once again astounded and amazed us all here in SmallWorlds HQ with their innovative and imaginative creations.

We separated the field into separate categories for judging. The categories for Sculptapalooza 2 were:

• Vehicles

It was hard work determining the winners but we made the hard calls and have chosen the winners. It really was a difficult choice with so many fabulous designs and creations to choose from.

Grand Prize Winner (Best Sculpture Overall)

The Grand Prize Winner (Best Sculpture Overall) is Jessica Bennett the Third with her amazingly detailed double sculpture: Large Aquarium (Blue).

The detail and intricacy of this set of sculptures was truly breathtaking and to us represents the unlimited potential of the Sculpture widget. Well done Jessica, we were truly stunned by your creation.

Household Item Winner 

The Household Item prize winner is Elektra Sue for her double act High Chair and Crib. This commonplace item with a utilitarian design showcased the ability of the Sculptor widget to transcend Art as a statement and present function over beauty as an aesthetic choice. Congratulations Elektra.

Swuffy Item Winner 

The Swuffy Item prize winner is Sore Eros for Swuffy Turtles (x4). The Swuffy category probably the hardest to represent with the soft curves and rounded lines of the Swuffy line in general. Here the hard-shelled and four legged terrapins took the prize. Congratulations Sore.

Career Item Winner  

The Career Item prize winner is Ahmad Durrah for his truly impressive multi-sculpture effort, Giant Red Barn. Using many blocks and the outdoor setting so effectively this enormous sculpture of a building shows a innovative interpretation of Career (Farming) and scale. This is truly thinking outside the box to produce a large scale and well planned piece. The judges also made mention of Ahmad's second entry of the Double Unicorn Carriage which was entered in the Vehicle category. Congratulations Ahmad.

Vehicle Item Winner  

The Vehicle Item prize winner is Noven Sandrin for his Hovering UFO. Vehicles were a hard choice for the judges, as there were many entries and they all took the theme to different places. In the end while it was a close call, the sense of whimsy and attention detail in the rounded Hovering UFO took the prize. Congratulations Noven.

SmallWorlds would like to acknowledge the many people who made the short-list this time around, but also those who did not. It was an amazing set of entries where the uniqueness and innovation on show was very impressive.  The winners were very difficult to choose.

And that's the key to a successful Magic Fight, it's there for the sole purpose of enjoying shooting and being shot at.  No mercy and no surrender - just spell after spell after spell!  If you are lucky enough to see one of the SmallWorlds crew in the space on one of their random visits, then fire away, we'll take it with good grace!

There aren't many rules.  No reports for spell casting, no wears, and no pets in the space. The only other rule?  This is totally not Fight Club, feel free to tell your friends! 

When and where?

The Epic Town Center Magic Melee Space will open at 6 a.m. SWT on Thursday 12th of April to coincide with Friday the 13th in New Zealand. The Magic Melee will run right through to midnight Sunday (SWT).

Do you have enough spells?

We recently moved the emotes to their own dedicated space on the footer bar, so you can load up your action bar with spells aplenty for the Epic Town Center Magic Melee. If you 're not into crafting that many, you can get spells from the catalog or in the Magic Melee space.
