Dear Color Lover: If you feel really confused about colors, I'd really encourage you to go look into 'having your colors done". There are probably plenty of free on-line sources of information you can find which will help you to sort out which colors will make you both look and feel wonderful darling! Be Your Own Style Guru
Style is a very personal thing. We need to remember that there really is no crowd to follow. There are no seasons, no rules. Darlings, as I so often say.. and I will keep on saying it... style comes from within, from knowing who you are and who you want to be. It will never come from wanting to be somebody else, or wanting your body to look differently. Many of the most stylish people in the world have not in fact fitted in with what might be considered beautiful - but one thing they have done is that they have all drawn on a deep well of self-confidence. We perceive them as beautiful because they themselves believed they were.
It may sound easy, but Coco realizes that finding your own style can be a daunting prospect. Here are a few little tips that may help you...
- You should wake up in the morning and be inspired by what is in your wardrobe: 5 pairs of blue jeans when compared with a vintage treasure you adore - it's easy to see which offers more!
- A good accessory should be like a treasured friend - you need to choose ones which really complement you darlings... accessories which make you feel good about yourself!
- Darlings, looking like you're always ready for a magazine shoot is most definitely not true style. Being a slave to perfection will do you no favors inside and out - it's very very stressful! If you can look like you are living, loving and enjoying life - now this is style!
- Make sure you have your basics (they are essential!), but equally important sweeties is to inject your individual style with a few one-of-a-kind pieces - it is these that will bring your wardrobe marvelously to life!
- Don't play it too safe darlings.... Being comfortable does not need to equal boring!
And to finish, a few quotes with more than a bit of wisdom contained...Zac Posen: "Dress to make an entrance the same way you dress to make an exit: with aplomb, shoulders back and a withheld secret."
Donatella Versace: "The most valuable item in your wardrobe is not a piece of clothing; it is an accessory. With a quick switch of a handbag or a pair of shoes, you can instantly change your look and mood."
