Join The Art Chat Channel

Sapphire Art has contributed something really useful to the SmallWorlds Art Community - An Art Chat Channel! I discovered it while browsing through the forums the other day, and thought it sounded like something the wider Art community needed to know about.

I caught up with Sapphire the other day to find out all I could about it. Sapphire is a really nice person and she's excited to see the Art Chat Channel expand and grow.

Hi Sapphire, What gave you the idea to start up the Art Chat Channel?

Sapphire: What gave me the idea was the Marketplace chat channel. I wanted to be able to chat with others, while in different rooms. This especially helps us to be able to have access to other artists; many of them are in Members Only studios painting, and if someone wants to talk to them, you can't contact them without interrupting them while they are painting. The Art Chat Channel fixes all that!

Me: How many people have subbed to the channel?

Sapphire: I'd say there are about 45 people subscribed so far, and I'm sure its going to grow in the future!

Me: How busy is it? - whats the most that have been on there at any one time?

Sapphire: There are usually 12 to 14 people on the channel, but one time there was about 30 artists online at once. As you can imagine that caused a lot of active art chit chat!

Me: How has it been useful for you personally?

Sapphire: It's been really useful for me to contact others while I am or they are painting, with no need to send them an in-world email or go onto the forums. It's also been useful to advertise my newest art on the forums.

Me: How would the Art Chat Channel be useful for a beginner artist? What about an more accomplished artist?

Sapphire: The chat channel could be helpful for a beginner artist to get tips and tricks on paintings, along with advertising their newest galleries. Beginner artists can also meet up with more artists, so they have a circle of artist friends. For more accomplished artists, the main things useful to them would be the fact of chatting with other artists without using the forums, advertising auctions and galleries, along with showing the newest artwork.

Me: Anything else you'd like to say about the chat channel?

Sapphire: The chat channel is great for tips; there's never a shortage of people willing to help and to chat to because artists love to talk! It's great for advertising, for finding out about all the newest art, auctions, galleries, and displays, and having fun! Come join us!
