"Emotions" Theme - The Winners!

Best Painting: Golden Happiness -  by Mat Sentol

Pure happiness just oozed out of this paiting by Mat. I loved his treatment of the shading on the skin, the facial lines. What really impressed me was his white hair and beard. The fine detail was amazing and so lifelike. Wonderful piece.

Best Painting Runner up: Sad Eyes -  by Naiomi Lovely

I returned to this painting time and time again; it has an almost photographic quality to it, and the perspective is amazing. The fine shading and use of light, wonderful. The use of monochromatic colors serve to accentuate the sadness expressed. A gorgeous piece!

Most Creative: Domestic Violence - by Grey Daze

A very creative and effective depiction of the 'violence of the spoken word'. Again, the use of monochrome means there are no distractions from the central message. The anger, and the physical and emotional impact it is powerfully depicted.

Most Creative Runner up: Who really am I? - by Black Eternal

Again, the eyes have it, in this stunning piece by Black Eternal. I love the luminosity of her skin and felt that there was a piercing clarity in her eyes, which seemed to provide an interesting contrast to the title of the piece. The splashes of color bring it all together beautifully.

Thanks again to all who entered, and I look forward to bringing you next months winners!
