Hi, I'm Chelsea. I'm nineteen and studying English at Auckland University in New Zealand. One day I want to be a writer.
I'm new to SmallWorlds. I was about to join up and check it out, when I had a great idea! I thought it would be fun to write up all my experiences along the way in this blog. Hope you like it!

Mission Linking

May 3, 2010 5:12 PM

Hey guys, I'm really sorry that I haven't written in ages.  Things have been pretty hectic with me lately.  Heaps has been happening in RL, and it looks like I'm going to be away for a while, traveling.  I'm super excited about it, but I'm not sure when I'll next be able to write anything.  Of course, I'll still be around in SmallWorlds every chance I get, but I might have to put my column on hold for now.

Before I go, I wanted to tell you about something I just discovered.  It's called Mission Linking, and it's a brand new innovation by Mangoloo Lala.

What is Mission Linking?

It's when a main mission is made that gives the basic storyline, but has no ending.  Other people can then continue the mission on, making up their version of what happens next.

Shelley's Story

Try out mission linking by heading to the NPC Hideout to play Shelley's Story by Mangoloo.  In her mission Mangoloo tells the first part of a story about Shelley - the NPC at Smallwear.  It's a short, fun mission with great interactions that made me laugh.  So far, two other people have linked missions on to continue Shelley's Story... both of them legendary mission-makers!

Mark Gx takes Shelley down one path, and Idda Ratherbehome takes her somewhere completely different.  If I tell you more, it will totally ruin it for you, so you've just got to try the missions out for yourself.

If you get really keen, you could even make your own linked mission - an alternative 'Shelley Story' with your version of what happens next.  Wouldn't it be cool if there were fifty more Shelley Stories to choose from?

Anyway, before I go I just wanted to say Thanks a million for reading my column. I've had a real blast, and made some amazing friends.

Hopefully, I'll be back in a while. But until then, take care and keep having fun!
